Adding the Indicator

  1. Open your TradingView chart.

  2. Click the Indicators button (or press /).

  3. Search for "Multi Timeframe Candle Analyzer" or "MTF Candle".

  4. Click to add it to your chart.

Once loaded, you'll see higher-timeframe candles appear to the right of your live price action. The indicator is an overlay, meaning it draws directly on your price chart β€” no separate pane needed.

First Look

By default, the indicator displays six timeframes: 5m, 15m, 1H, 4H, 1D, and 1W. Each timeframe shows up to 10 candles. You'll see:

  • Colored candle bodies (green for bullish, red for bearish)

  • Wicks extending above and below each body

  • Timeframe labels above each group of candles (e.g., "5m", "15m", "1H")

  • Countdown timers showing how long until the current candle closes

  • Trace lines connecting your chart's price action to the corresponding candle OHLC levels

Important: The indicator only displays timeframes that are higher than your current chart timeframe and that divide evenly into it. If you're on the 15-minute chart, a 5-minute timeframe won't render. The indicator automatically validates this for you.
